Located in Frankfurt, the Museum Of Modern Electronic Music will be opening its doors for the first time this October. The MOMEM will be the first to explore the sounds, history, and future associated with the history of electronic music.

The MOMEM will house exhibitions, performance areas, and installations, linking both sound and architecture. Its library will also host material on musical history, and instruments, such as turntables and specialized software.

A passionate music lover, DJ, and producer who has had a huge influence on the scene since the 90s, Alex Azary brings a unique perspective as the museum’s Director. Azary was inspired by long-time friend, partner, and Technoclub founder Andreas ‘Talla’ Tomalla, who had the idea for the concept in 2011.

Industry-leading and award-winning agencies have been involved with MOMEM from the start. Atelier Markgraph has taken care of Design and Realisation, and Cosalux is a key digital partner, helping to bring the concept to life.

Its facade draws inspiration from 12’’ vinyl records, sleeves, and the mesh used for soundsystems, whilst soundwave graphics wrap around the museum as touchscreens allow passers-by to interact with them. Also, live gigs from local and international artists will be streamed on the building, with viewers able to connect directly via Bluetooth.
